Oakfield is regulated by CQC to provide nursing care for older people and people with physical disabilities & dementia

Oakfield is committed to providing sympathetic, individualised and comprehensive care to all residents to cater specifically for their own needs, preferences and wishes.

Oakfield is a privately owned Nursing Home regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to provide care and support for over 50 residents.

Oakfield’s main building used to be a farm house but has since been fully renovated, extended and refurbished into the nursing home you see today.

We are fortunate to have 2 acres of landscaped grounds which we take pride in maintaining. We have a dedicated gardener who is committed to ensuring the grounds are aesthetically pleasing and always filled with seasonal flowers.

At Oakfield, we understand that each individual has different needs, and that’s why Oakfield provides person-centered care and support for each individual. All care plans and risk assessments are tailored to each specific resident.

We are owned by Portland Care Services Limited, which is based in Middlesex.

All of our 55 bedrooms are tastefully decorated with the majority of them being en-suite. We encourage residents to bring photographs, favourite ornaments, other treasured keepsakes or even small items of furniture that will help you personalise your room and make it feel like ‘home’. All rooms have air mattresses and nurse call bell alarm in place. Some rooms also have doors to access the outside patio and garden areas.

You Are What You Eat

Nutritious, well balanced meals form an integral part of life here at Oakfield. We guarantee that our food is freshly prepared each day and as wholesome and healthy as possible. We love to make mealtimes a sociable and enjoyable experience and relatives are welcome to join them for our varied, delicious and home cooked meals.

Our kitchen staff work hard to provide nutritionally balanced, satisfying meals within a traditional menu. Special dietary requirements are always catered for and residents can request their favourite meals.

Every day we have a selection of fresh desserts, including homemade cakes, trifle, pies and puddings – everyone looks forward to the dessert trolley making the rounds.

Join your loved one for a meal – if you’d like to have lunch or dinner here with us please let the kitchen know 24 hours in advance and they will prepare a meal for you so you can still share in one of life’s routines. There is a nominal charge of £2.50 per meal.

Bereavement Garden

First established in 2009 our memorial rose garden provides a beautiful landscaped area within the home’s grounds where we remember some of our previous residents.

Over the years friends and family have planted rose bushes to remember loved ones who are no longer with us and these have grown into a garden where people come to sit and reminisce.

Based around a running water feature that meanders down into a pond filled with lilies and goldfish it provides a tranquil spot for reflection and remembrance.

If you would be interested in having a rose planted at Oakfield please ask and we can arrange this for you. Choose the wording you would like and we will arrange a memorial plaque to go with your rose bush.
